When plugging a mike through the Vestax controller, there is a "delay" on the output. I tried moving the buffer setting to the left, but a small delay still exists and the audio out from controller would drop out intermittently during play back. What can I do to make the mike sound better?

Sorry in advance for what I am about to say but. Am I the only one who does not a this problem. So many people have reported this as an issue however I have never experienced it.

Ok I use a 2.8ghz 2GB Ram 24inch imac and I also have a Sure SM58 mic & I use RCf powered speakers. But at no point do I ever have a delay. In fact I would say it is near on perfect.

However so many people have this issue (and by all accounts the only way to resolve it is to run the mic through a different mixer).

Does anyone else not have this problem. May be if there are few more that don't have this issue post what they use maybe we can find a common ground as to why it does work and this might help in resolving why sometimes it does not work.

Hi Daviddj7,

When you put the headphones on and you speak in the mic there is a delay also?
Please make sure your on ITCH V1.5 and all other programs are disabled. I would also try different USB ports and see if that works. The lower the buffer size the less lag you will have

Please contact me if there are any questions :)

Thank you,
Carl

Hi guys. I have done some investigating into this last night and how found the following.

My machine is a 24inch imac running MAC OSX 10.6.3 with a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB of 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM & a 320GB HDD (5600RPM).

I am only running ITCH with no other applications, BT or WIFI running. The only other devices are a USB keyboard and a USB mouse.

The VCI was powered by an external PSU.

I use iTunes to categorise all my music and have ITCH look at my iTunes library.

So thats the back ground now here is the testing I did last night @ a small gig.

So the gig was 5 hours long not doing anything special just a pub no real mixing involved so processor and USB signals were not really being pushed in anyway.

At the start of the gig I had no problems with the mic at all (and indeed I have not done in the past). However as the gig went on I found the problem finally happened to me. So at the end of the gig I tried a few things and found the following.

The more you turn the master volume up on the VCI the more the delay is visible. I tried playing with the mic volume knob, trim and eq but this had zero effect. In fact the only time I could bring this back to normality was to reduce the Master volume and and turn up the trip and mic volume knob. I ever tried this after a restart and still the same problem

The reason why I have not had this before is that I normally run through another desk but as I didn't have this option and was using my own gear I found this.

So Vestax / Serato you guys may want to try this or if anyone else wants to try this we may have found the issue that is causing a excellent piece of kit to be a little bit annoying at times.

If you need anything more then please let me know.

Regards,

Jonny
