problem - analyse files, libary and freeze - itch 1.10

hello serato team and the whole crew,

i am a german, thats why my english is not so good but i have a problem with my new ns7 and itch.

i tested the problem on 2 different notebooks:

1: amd x2 1,8 ghz, 2 gig ram, 160 gb hdd
2: core duo 2,0 ghz, 2 gig ram, 200 gb hdd

i have also a 320 gb maxtor external drive full of music.

my problem:

i analysed all my files with itch and this was running about 3 days.. no problem, but now there are some files which will be loaded everytime complete new if i drop them on the deck... for this moment the itch freezes and there are some glitches and a not clear sound...

when i try to analyse the files one more time, itch says : "all files analysed"

i have the same problem when i move some folders in other positions on the external drive and then try to load them in itch, then i have no overview for the song and itch have to find the bpm and everyting again...

but if i press the analyse button again.. itch says that everything is done...

do you kow a answer for this problem?

Hi olde,

So when you drop these already analyzed files onto a deck do you see the waveform start to build again?

Does the USB dropout light (to the left of the ITCH logo) come on when you have these freezes?

hey

yeah when drop these files the waveform builds again and the bpm search is starting again... why that happen?

what can i do to build overviews for all files and the new ones same way....

it seems like itch dont store some overview informations...

the drop out light comes when itch freezes only at real drop outs but when i load a song sometimes itch freezes without the light.. then there are glitches and everything and 3 seconds later the song appears on the deck...

do you have a answer for me... what can i do to make everything alright?

i tried all settings with the options for performance (1ms, 2ms, 5ms, 10ms)
but nothing works...

It sounds like the overview isn't being saved to the file. What format are your files? Are the files, the folder(s) or drive(s) they are on set to read only?

Do you see the CPU bar (in the top right hand corner) max out when this happens?

1. no are on reading and writing.... and i use only 320 kb mp3s..

2. no the bar dont change when it freezes... nothing on the screen makes a move in this moment and the music plays on witch some scarry sound like little rewinds, glitches, and blubbers

Is this the folder and drive too? If they are read and write also I'll need to get you to attach one of the files you are having this problem with so I can look into it.

There's a good article here on tips to minimise dropouts -> www.serato.com (click link). Please have a read over it and try out the suggestions on pages 3 & 4 - does this help at all?

1. yes it is in folder and drive...

2. i did everything what is written in this article before...

let me see what i can do, i try to analyze all files completly new...

do you know how i can build new overviews for all my files which are in the standart "all" crate...

because when i only click analyze files, it says "all files analyzed"...

If you hold ctrl and click the "analyze files" button it will re-analyze all your files. If you do this and you still have this problem can you please attach one of your files so I can test it :)
