I have had a problem where the song stops in the middle or towards the end of play for about 2 to 3 seconds, then starts up again where it left off. Lets say it's playing in side A, side B plays without interruption. When it stops, the wave disapears and the time goes to zeros. It doesn't happen alot, but enough to where it can be very embarasing....help! lol
thank you

Happens to me too, I think it's my external drive or Database is corrupt. Doing another drive as we speak but taking my time with it as I want it completely right. If you have same issue then it will be silent but when it comes back it acts as if it played the silent part like it never missed a beat. Is this the same for you.

Ya, it starts up exactly where it left off. I'm using the internal HDD on my laptop. (have to use a powered USB hub cause my laptop can't handle the Serato Scratch, and both CDJ400's all at once, so adding an extra USB device is something I wanna stay away from).

Mine doesn't start where it left off, it continues the song until it comes back on. So if you were mixing when it happened you would still be on beat when it came back in

Ahhh, I see. I wish mine did that LOL. Ya, mine starts where it left off, so I end up looking like a huge bozo lol. I also have a problem sometimes where I load a song and it appears blank and freezes the deck it was loaded on. I usually hit the cue button on my CDJ a few times, and the play to, till it loads up. Don't know if that is what fixes the problem though lol. I didn't post this previously cause it doesn't affect my mixing, but I wonder now if that is coralated to the music stoping midtrack? It's not to say that the track that acts up in the biginning is the same one that acts up in midplay.

Check the firmware version for your CDJ400's and make sure it's current.
Funkytownstopsix, have you tested your setup with some of the additional computers you have listed in your profile? If so, does the same thing happen using different computers?

Yeah on both that's why I think something is corrupt on drive. I am rebuilding another drive taking my time to look at all my files. It could be that the drive is going bad. I thought it could be firewire but it happens on either computer which I use different cables for. It happens on different songs maybe like once or twice in a 3 hour period. I should have the drive done by next week and then I will do some testing.
FYI I was already having issue as my Mac was having a hard time all of sudden with the crates, they would not load but would on PC..Yeah the Drive is NTFS but I had no issues with that until late. Mac would not save cues but would read crates. Now when it loads crates they are empty so I drag song into cartes that works but if i do a search I get some type of crazy text drawings that I have never seen before in the search box. New drive is Fat 32 and will be built with much care before I build overviews.

I updated the CDJ's as soon as i got them, along with updating scratch.

Cool.
If you use the CDJ400's without the powered USB hub, can you reproduce the problem?
I know you need the hub to connect two to your Mac, but to help narrow down the possible cause, please try things with one CDJ400 and see if you can reproduce what's going on.

Thanks Shaun, I'm gonna try that as soon as I get home, and run my them without the USB. Not that it makes much difference for this, i'm using a PC, not a mac. Just saying it for FYI :)

No Prob Shaun, thanks for staying ontop of the thread!! :)
I just noticed i was incorrect on the wave file dropping also, it actually just darkens up, but continues moving as if the track was still playing.

Weird, so the waveforms are there but slightly darker than normal and, after a few seconds, go back to normal and play properly again?

Ya, and the deck the track is playing on goes all zeros. It's done it a couple of times now towards the beginning of the track. Luckily it doesn't interrupt the opposite deck.

From the pic, it looks like it's the right virtual deck, correct?
It almost seems like the track is rebuffering or something.
Does this happen when not using the CDJ 400s with your setup?

yes, it's the right virtual, and as far as running it without the CDJ's, to be honest never thought about trying that! lol, i'll try it next time i throw my rig on
