Artist Field Not Showing Up In serato

Here's the deal: In my i Tunes the artist and title fields are fine. But for some reason (and I don't think i hit anything by accident) the artist are not showing up in serato for one specific crate. The artist field is there but it's displaying all blanks as if I never typed anything in. I use this crate often and they were all typed in and all displayed 2 days ago. They do show up still in i tunes but not in Serato and it's only happening to this one crate.

I tried the following:

1. Rescanning ID Tags
2. making a duplicate Crate in I Tunes of he same crate and calling it number 2
3. in i tunes i selected music (for my entire library) hit Apple/a then right click and ok
4. I tried to play the tracks to see if the info reappears (the song plays just fine but nothing)
5. Hiding the Artist Field in Serato and then showing it again.

None of the above worked

Can You help me?

rescanning the ID3 tags was a good move. After that you would want to build the overviews. You can drag and drop that crate right onto the build overviews tab. Give that a shot.

Are they read only files?

Is your hard drive close to capacity?

I'll try that now, no I don't beleive they are read only because I always edit and move around delete and such. As for HD nah I still have 23 igs left and I will have another 75 once I convert some waves to mp3s that are sitting on my desktop.

Thanks for the quick reply I'll let ya know in 5 minutes if it worked.

Nope unfortunately building overviews didn't work.

did you get any bad / corrupt icons next to the music after building overviews?

No Bad / Corrupt Files. Alot of tracks I deleted showed back up but wouldn't play but that's not to big of a deal I'll redelete em.

Here's something that I just tried.

I took on song that was in the crate in Serato and I Added the artist manually and hit enter it played fine and all was good until.... I went into i tunes, played that particular song song and then bam it no longer appeared in I tunes. Ive never seen that happen before.

OK so back to the issue at hand, it's only happening to one crate in serato but no others. What's Next??

Sorry typo: I Took One Song That was in the crate while in serato and I manually typed in the artist. I hit eneter and it played just fine, until after I played it in I tunes. Then serato no longer could find the track. I've never seen that before

what version of itunes are you on?

have you tried putting the same songs from this trouble crate into a new crate and then delete the old? Does that help?

Have you built overviews on this crate specifically?

Yes I tried making a duplicate crate twice now and deleting the old crates
Yes i built Overviews and I rescanned twice for this specific Crate

Could It be Something in Serato Somewhere?

try rescanning the Id3 tags in i-tunes.

close Sl, highlight all the music in Itunes, ctrl + I (get info), click yes, click o.k., close Itunes, open Scratchlive.

Quick Question while I have your attention,

I Edited All My i tunes Songs in Serato and all the tags changed in i Tunes Like they should Have. Now if I Copy the Songs From My I Tunes onto an external HD for Back Up will I keep all the Tags I've Created when I Use that hardrive in Serato?

hehe, sweet.

Your tag data should stay the same as it currently is since the changes have been saved to the ID3 tag associated with the file.
