I drive by that place all the time but never gone in. I didnt even know they have DJs there. I live like 2 mins from that place in Union Square.

That place looks ok and the dj set up is in the back. The place looks a little classy too. They do have the other but from what I heard they gonna open that up too. I know the dj and the promoter who is throwing that night ask me to spin and most likely be spinning there every month.

Yo Boston peeps.... Im starting a radio show on 91.5 in 4 weeks. WMFO is I think 125 WATT station so it spans from South Boston up to Melrose MA about.

If you have any remixes that you want to be played on air send them my way. Dont send me gigs of music. Pick out like your top 5 maybe and let me know. Dont send me premade radio shows either. Oviously Im not going to distribute your mixes if you dont want me to AND dont expect any type of royalties either. Because remixing someone elses song without permission is illegal anyway. Im pretty amazed they are letting play mash ups and all on air already.

So if you want to send them my way without everyone on the forum downloading it just upload it to yousendit.com or whatever you use and private message me the download link.

yep, I usually bring 2 Rockstars for a 2 hour set, never ask for drink tickets or tab, unless I have a bunch of friends coming for a big party or something.....when DJ's take advantage of the freebies, Its noticed by management....

Its noticed though....when a club has to pay a headliner 2g's or whatever for the night and then they have a big tab.

but headliners are headliners, and usually have a bottle or two included in their rider.

HHA Barber, them "celebrity" hosted nights are usually fun,. at least you will have an MC type for crowd hype..... just make sure you set some rules when you first get there, so he isnt trying to shout over you all night.

yeah, thats the plan. I mean venues are really streching the boundaries as to as of which they can accomodate. This place is a nice, chill spot, they should stick with that vibe, instead they are going to try and pack as many people in this place, and make it no longer a comfortable chill place to be lol.

I don't want to pass judgment on DJ Play yet, I have to hear him, but I have heard some stories from people, but I prefer to make my own assesment.

The Real P Dj kid is from UMASS Amherst, and from the looks of his myspace page, he is a hard core hip hop dj, so I may have some fun just yet lol

I know this guy - I have his phone number actually because a place I worked in Boston used to use him sometimes and I had to call him once. He's a complete and utter joke. He's a huge asshole and yes, he uses "DJ Power", maybe the worst "dj software" ever created.

Trust me on this one guys... run away from Disco Dan McCarthy.

yeah, he works at T's pub on Comm Ave...I went in there when I first started and was like bye bye...lol...he DJS for the Bruins and Celtics as well I believe

He still owes me $100 bucks. I worked for him once, at The Black Rhino, its now Market, and he wanted me to use his cd set up and his cd's. I took one look at dudes rig, and brought mine in. it was mad whack that night lol

If anyone is up in the North Shore and wants to DJ @ MetroPark, I guess there is a new store opening in Peabody or something...
I saw it on Craigslist, but already do the one in Natick and Burlington...

I am super tight with the Manager at Burlington so if someone wants an in @ the Peabody Store I can prob help out...

yeah or 150 gift certificate...

but the upside is alot of people come in ask for cds, cards etc...so the potential it has to lead to other gigs is alot better then some gigs...

Honestly tho a 4 hour gig there feels like an hour...you can play whatever you want. I struggle to get thru my weekly gig sometimes cuz I am on such a tight rope as to what I can play, having the freedom to play absolutely anything makes the time fly by...plus if you dont get to put in a lot of practice during the week its a good opportunity for that...I guess each persons perspective of it is different.

Ive been doing it for just about a year and the exra 200 in cash or 300 in clothes is worth it to me. seeing i would prob just sit around and get drunk if I wasnt there.

plus mad hotties are in there all day.
