BERTO 10:21 PM - 14 December, 2011
what that is sick where did you get info? this could work for lappy bags in your car too
Laz219 10:25 PM - 14 December, 2011
I remember the guys from Crane talking about this a while ago.

Seems like a good idea, I keep my laptop/SL box kensington locked to my desk anyway but I've seen how easy they are to remove if you know how.

That's really not gonna stop some from stealing your stuff...if you have big hands you could just muffle the sound, and keep it moving...
djpuma_gemini 7:11 AM - 15 December, 2011
is this for djing, or when your asleep.

How would you not know your laptop is gone, now maybe an external, but the sound will cut out quick when the usb is pulled.

Do you think that in a club you would be hearing the alarm at all? ;)
BERTO 12:09 PM - 15 December, 2011
Yea but it brings attention and those alarms are piercing as hell you wouldnt want to be carrying it on your person
Dj.Mojo 12:28 PM - 15 December, 2011
It´s usability depends on the price tag. Curious how much it is going for.

I'd assume battery powered Puma, I don't really know how these will work but if it's anything like the laptop alarms where I work (computer shop) they'll run for months on a battery.

That Crane thingamagig looks like something re-branded. That's pretty good though that they've grown like that.
Joshua Carl 9:54 PM - 15 December, 2011
supposedly this was taken from the site... I cant say if its actually the real deal

"Anyone who has ever had their laptop, crane stand, SL1/3/4, etc. stolen or even knows someone who has had that misfortune will want this item.
The Screamer will allow you to lock up a laptop, peripheral device, and Crane Stand all at once. It has two settings; locked with alarm and locked with sensor alarm. The first setting will scream if the unit is tampered with to the point of breaking the device or the wire. The second setting will scream if the device is tampered with or moved even a little bit.

Map is $40. Available in EU only until January.

The item comes with:

Instruction in English and Spanish

One lock unit

One primary anchor

One secondary anchor

Batteries"

If I didn't know any better, I would think this thread was a sly advertising ploy on behalf of Crane.

They make good stuff though... I'm very satisfied with their laptop stand.

Ha! That reminded me of the A&H Xone S2. That's an install mixer that can book hooked up to the alarm system. So whenever the fire alarm goes off, the mixer will shut down the music.
Joshua Carl 10:29 PM - 15 December, 2011
THEN I BETTER SOME CRANE SWAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not emails saying.... "you know ... maybe you shouldnt have posted that"
djpuma_gemini 10:44 PM - 15 December, 2011
Still don't see the point.

I understand them at best buy or some computer store, but not while you are djing.
Joshua Carl 10:50 PM - 15 December, 2011
I dont think it stop a proper thief,,,, but some drunken blaggard who tries to lift something out of your gig bag when u turn ur back for a second.
that shit starts wailing at 100db, and everyones gonna turn and see someone with their hands in the cookie jar.

I know more people get their shit jacked at gigs...or in their car... than anywhere else.
