When someone's giving you something for free no need to dis them. If I went into a record shop and wanted one out of seven things played to me that would be a fair average. So, one tune out of seven for free looks like a good thing to me.
My cup is half full......

If there's anything you really like let us know in the Release Feedback forum -> beta.whitelabel.net
Yep :) That's planned, but a way off because we have a lot of record label stuff to do first.
Until then you could try using Firefox -> www.mozilla.com
With the Download them all extension -> www.downthemall.net

i wonder how into this the EDM indie labels would be... From what I understand, a lot of these labels make most of their money off vinyl sales to DJs and having their tracks available for all SSL DJs to download will likely cut into their sales.
I know promos are usually just given out on a sort of "VIP" basis...

Yep, that's right. Some are choosing to try out Whitelabel.net to reach new markets, some have almost given up on making money out of selling music altogether and simply want to get their music out there to enable them to do more gigs (where the real money is...)

ive been curious too about it, ive also been wondering if the serato/whitelabel team are going to incorporate expiry dates into the files... i know most of you will hate me for it, but doesnt it make sense that after a few months, its not really a promo track anymore?Interesting. However, the world of Promo doesn't work that way. It could be more than months before a track "expires" or happens to be a hit. Do you know the meaning of "sleepers"? I don't think putting a time limit is in the best interest of the labels. Besides, once it's out. It's out. It has spread like herpes and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

I'm pretty stoked that whitelabel.net is providing some non-mainstream labels. There's enough record pools to get your daily dose of top40 shit out there...
Stoked that guys like ninjatune are on board...

For drum and bass record companies, I highly recommend 'Hospital Records' and 'Shogun Audio'.
VIP remixes of established drum and bass tunes would be amazing!

Also, it might be worth tracking down DJ Marky and see if he'll give a release or remix.
I saw him last week at One Nation 'Clash of the Titans' at Brixton Academy. I know he's on your list of 'DJ's who use Serato Scratch', but actually seeing him plug in Serato Scratch and do a set was awesome!
Considering D&B can be quite an elitist vinyl genre, it was good seeing a top D&B dj use digital. Gives me hope... ;P

I see Serato is one of the sponsors for the 'Sun and Bass' event. It might be worth using the opportunity of close proximity with D&B dj's to see if they'll be keen in getting involved.
Also, any perks for owners of Serato Scratch when going to events sponsored by Serato? ;P

Alas, not this year.
I spent a lot of money (read: overdraft) buying my turntables and Serato, which cut into my holiday funds.
However, I've already planted in my friends the seed of thought to camp on the beach and go next year.
Tell me if it's any good :)
