Alright, tested it out! Works like you said! At first I was confused cause i saw the first effect up on full and was afraid I had things set wrong, but once I started moving everything, it was all gravy.

Only thing I noticed (not sure if its just me), is that the effect doesn't kick in right away once I move away from 12 oclock. It'll kick in around 9-10/2-3 oclock. Not really a huge deal - maybe a tweaking of the values could make it work better?

Question: Could I use this template, keep your FX section intact, yet change everything else around it without a problem? Will the settings you did impede anything I want to assign to other areas of the controller?

You should be able to assign/reassign anything else to your liking outside of the filter sweep knobs/buttons (#3, or "FILTER" controls on the X1) with no problem!

The filter not kicking in right away was intentional. Sometimes I dont have a chance to actually turn the filter effects off, or i just leave them on all the time, so I set it up to have a larger than normal "dry" zone at 12 o'clock on the X1 knob. That way if i spin the knob back to 12 o'clock quickly without hitting the ON/OFF button, and i dont hit it right on, itll still be a 100% dry signal.

You can tweak this by simply editing the range of each preset's parameter knobs and how they're mapped to the super knob for each effect. I just have them set up to only start moving when the super knob has already moved a bit beyond the starting point.

True that, makes sense why you didnt want it to kick in right away. To each their own!

I forgot to mention, for anyone else trying this out - in MIDIPipe, you will have to make sure everythings groovy when you load up the config file.

In the pipes section, the first couple ones will show 'offline - Traktor kontrol x1'. When you see that, just change it to Traktor Kontrol X1. You will need your X1 plugged in.

Nevermind. It was the second MIDI in that was set to "offline..."

Hi OhCeeDee. Wondering if you can help? First, thanks for sharing! I have installed everything (I think) according to your instructions, yet I can't get the LEDs to light up. Your Read Me says:

Just select the proper MIDI ports on the X1 that look similar to whats already selected when you load the MIDIPipe file (should look something like "Traktor Kontrol X1 Left - MIDI input port 0" and "Traktor Kontrol X1 Left - MIDI output port 0")

Mines say 'Offline...". I see that you thanked someone for clarifying (above), but I don't know to change it to "Kontrol X1...".

Can you help me?

Update: I was able to get the LEDs working and the MIDIPipe working after I reinstalled Kontrol's drivers. However, I still can't control SSL with the controller. I sent you an email about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i'm doing my own mapping for the Kontrol X1 and I have a small problem, hope someone might help me.

I'm on MAc using midipipe and scratch live.

Basically i want the FX buttons next to the top 4 knobs to stay lit up when the effect is active (and lit off when the effect is deactivated).
I mapped it in to the controller editor as "toggle" (not "gate") as I want it activate until I press it again.
What happen instead is that I have to double click the button in order to deactivate the lights and the effect. Basically at the first click the light goes off (but the effect stays on) at the second click the effect switches off.

If I map the same button to "loop roll" for example, it behaves correctly.

It's really frustrating, does anyone know why that happen ?

On the assign tab, mine shows as the following and works correctly:

Type: control change
Channel:1
Number:15
Mode:Toggle
Value off:0
Value on:127
Action on:down

i don't have it in front of me now, but I think it says the same to me ( i tried to change the action to up).
what about midi pipe?
I've tried with the template of OhCeeDee which has a few more parameters taht I don't really get and also simply using midi in and midi out to kontrol x1.
and still no luck.
I'll have a proper look later tho.

the funny thing is that the behavious of the buttons is fine if I trigger a loop roll, but with the effects I have to "double click".

can you roll over the "ON" button in serato midi panel.
I saw it has a few parameters there as well...
I think is a serato issue tho
I'm using 2.0 nOt 2.1

Quick question . . . I read the read me and it just explains a few mappings. Did you map everything else as well (cue points, etc) or will I need to map those myself?

I do, i mapped page 1 pretty exactly as the text is on the X1 is set, rather putting an overlay on it or having to remember where things are... a lot of page 2 is the same too

Love the mappings for the effects and cues, but when i enter shift mode... The tempo and nudge mappings will not work, but cue 1 and cue 2 in shift mode WILL work... Any suggestions?

If anyone ned a mapping for the x1 you can send me a message. It controlls master effect & tripple effect bank for each deck, song browsing & loading, instant doubles, switching between sp6,dj effects and bridge, make cue points for each deck, loops, loop in & out etc..
