Hey I have Rane SL3 and also have a mixer, but do not have CD players/turntables. I was wondering if it was possible to still control Serato with My Mixer via the SL3, and output it to speakers and use the internal controls to load songs. Thanks.

Yes you can, it will be a bit tricky bit possible. You will use the software on internal mode and use your computer shortcut keys for everything else, on the mixer you can only control the crossfading and eq's.

Hi damms22 - like djdannyd says it can be done, but it's not an ideal situation. Best of luck!

Hey thanks a lot for the support guys. Im waiting on some funds before making additional hardware purchases. In the mean time though, how would the wiring work for the serato/mixer solo combination...Just cables from the AUX out to the mixer??

I was playing with my DJM-800 and the Traktor X1 midi controller the other day. I used channels 1 & 2 on the mixer for volume and 3 & 4 for my pitch controls...and the X1 controller for everything else.
It "felt" wierd but was working fine. Not ever sure I'll have the comfort level in playing this way in a venue...but was fun to play with. Well maybe I would...I am looking for a super small set-up for small places.

You should just be able to wire the left and right deck outputs on the box to line ins on the mixer, then use internal mode.
