WTF?! Only one channel left?

I didn't connect my ttm 57 to my mac for a long time but tried to record something with ableton live as always.

My problem: I can only select Line 2 in my Mac system preferences and in Ableton Live as output or input. The last time i recorded something i was able to use line 2 as my output-channel and line 1 as my input... so i was able to record some scratches from a vinyl on line 1 while listening to the beat made with ableton live on line 2.

I tried to use the record utility and mapped the channel 1 pre to line 2 and tried to record from vinyl. in ableton i was just getting the signal from line 1 as wished, but the record had a digital-feedback. I looked for the monitoring and stuff like that... no reason for a feedback.
never had problems like that, because i just selected line 1 as my freakin' input in ableton and line 2 as my output :)

so wtf happened… where did the second channel go? any suggestions?

I'm going crazy about that because I really want to finish my song the fast and dirty way like always (no bumping of the track, importing to sl and record the stuff with sl… just right there in ableton)

…and sorry for my bad english!

OOOOOOK :)

Serate-Support-Page:

"Only one channel available when using TTM 57SL as an external soundcard with Mac OS X 10.5.7+
Due to changes made in Mac OS X 10.5.7+ (still present in Snow Leopard 10.6+) only one channel of the TTM 57SL is able to be selected when using the TTM 57SL as an external soundcard.

Workaround:

Use Mac OS X 10.5.6

We are working on a firmware update to resolve this issue."

Any workarounds for me till the new firmware arrives?

Been researching the problem a bit lately and I've read some success stories on using the USBCoreAudio driver from 10.5.6, basically "downgrading" it. I don't think there would be any side affects but I'll experiment tonight a bit and see.

Upgrading to Snow Leopard seemed to have solved this problem for me.

not for me :( … for me, snow leopard is the reason for this problem

10.6.4 works for me.

it is fixed in 10.6.4
apple changed something.

the ability to send TC to the laptop and listen to the sound on that channel at the same time is still missing though, it only works in ssl.

in any other app i can EITHER send the TC in OR get a signal out,
by switching the rotary switches next to the gains.
both at the same time never works and never has worked for me.
it would be great to have both at the same time.
i really don'T understand why it is not possible - it's possible in scratchlive, so it can't be a hardware issue.
