What midi adapter are you using. The M-Audio midisport uno is one of the recommended ones to use.

Thats the one i bought

Hm It should work fine then.

Make sure that you have the right midi pin cable plugged in. There are 2 of them, one is out and one is in. Use the out one.

yea looked at them before i pluged them in, and just incase i reverved them just in case it was messed up from the factory.. are there any step to assigning the presents,,is there anything to click other then the midi and what u want to control? then use what u want to be mapped??

Not really...it's pretty simple.

OK, let's see. When you plug in the midi device to the USB and nothing on the DJM-800 what is the green light doing?
DJ REEL 1:05 AM - 14 January, 2010
USB light
VJ Justin Allen 1:20 AM - 14 January, 2010
It should be pulsing on and off green
DJ REEL 3:05 AM - 14 January, 2010
yeah its pulsing

Plug it in to the DJM-800, now what do you see?

Sorry for the step-by step, just making sure of the connection status.

He said DJM-1000 i search on the net and i only found this about djm-1000
MIDI OUT
MIDI signals can be output to allow MIDI control of external devices.

So i dont think you can assign the mixer to control vsl check the specs for the djm-800
Fully Assignable MIDI function
There are a total of 61 assignable controls. The MIDI signal can be sent from almost all knobs and switches on the surface of the DJM-800 to external MIDI equipment. Since the mixer can send out many MIDI signals, it can be used as a flexible interface to music software or hardware such as Ableton Live or EDIROL V-4 Video Mixer.

=)

WOW, I totally missed that he was working on the DJM-1000. My bad DJ Reel and thanks DJMuErTe!

I believe that the DJM-1000 only has 1 assignable midi out and that is the crossfader. I have an email in to some people now to confirm that.

We've been able to map the 800 fine but haven't had the 1000 in hear to try it.

There is a difference between "Fully Assignable MIDI function" and "MIDI OUT"
(MIDI signals can be output to allow MIDI control of external devices)

When you have it connected and are in MIDI mode within Scratch Live, are you click ing on what you want to map and does that box then turn brown?

If it does are you then clicking a midi assignable button on the mixer? Does the box within Scratch Live turn green?

i read the manual and it had this in there,,
The DJM-1000 can send operating data to external MIDI devices using the MIDI protocol.
* 0-127 MIDI data is output by operating the cross fader.
.

DJM-1000 control MIDI control code MIDI control name MIDI Channel
Cross fader operation -
control mode- CC11,
control name- Expression,
Midi Channel 1

All i really want is for the fader to work with Serato..

Did you try the method I described?

Also have a look at the tutorial

The only thing that is mappable on the DJM-1000 is the crossfader. Nothing else works.
DJ REEL 5:07 AM - 16 January, 2010
yea i got the fader to work,, didnt try anything else tho,, all i really needed was the fader for the Videos,, thanks for your guys help!!
