Hi Pajosh,
Are your crates on your internal or external hard drive? Are you logged in as an administrator?

Try turning off the UAC (User Account Control) setting within Vista:
1) Close ITCH.
2) Open the Control Panel.
3) Go into User Accounts , click on the "Turn User Acount Controls On or Off" option and uncheck the "Use User Account Controls (UAC) to help protect your computer" box.
Please let me know if this helps :)

Ok, sounds like the UAC setting is still causing this problem. Can I please get you to try this:
1. Click on the Windows Start button and select Run. When the Run window opens type
"msconfig" to launch MSCONFIG.
2. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC" (or "Disable UAP"). Click on that line.
3. Press the Launch button.
4. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
5. Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

Hi Pajosh,
That's no good :( Can I please get you to try this:
1) Ensure that ITCH closed.
2) Open Windows Explorer and go to the ScratchLIVE folder.
3) Locate the Subcrates folder and rename it (e.g. to old_Subcrates).
4) Make a new folder called Subcrates.
5) Copy the .crate files from the old_Subcrates folder to the Subcrates folder.
6) Use ITCH as normal.
Do you still have this problem now?

Hi Michael, still the same. This must be some protect in Vista system or I do not know...

The trouble is happening during exiting the ITCH program. It takes a long time, while the program is closing and after that the "(safe)" in the name in the Subcrate folder is shown.

I agree, something in Vista is not letting ITCH write out to the crates on exit. Are you able to create another user account, add some files, make some crates and see if you have this same problem?

Creation of a new user account helps! Thank you for solving this. If you found out why my old user account (admin account) blocks ITCH to write out, please, let me know. I will check the forum. Regard, Pajosh

Great! I'm pleased that worked :)
I'm not sure what was happening, for some reason it seems the file permissions on your old account were not letting ITCH write out to the crates on exit. Luckily creating a new account has got around this :)
I'll close this thread for now, please post back if it starts happening again.
