Can someone walk me through the Terminal Mod for Perian??

I have read a few threads on having Perian decode the h.264 files but am not sure if I am doing it right. What is the method for enabling this and how can I check if I did it correctly?

I have also downloaded and installed Perian 1.1.4. Is this okay to use?

open the terminal and type:
defaults write org.perian.Perian DecodeAllProfiles -bool YES

that's it. the way you check is goto Users/'your name'/library/preferences/org.perian.Perian.plist
double click that file and it should bring up the PropertyListEditor. there it should say DecodeAllProfiles (checkbox)
