but hey,

don't knock it until you try it. There is a lot of stupid shit to sift through (on all the internet) but when you get the news before the news does, links to tracks before the masses do, and you find out about the SL3 before the forum does, you may start to see the value.

Shamann - I too thought it was the stupidest thing ever until I actually used it. Man...I was so against Twitter, thinking it was even dumbererer than facebook. SO AGAINST it. Railed against it and called everyone who used it a stupid narcissistic dipshit retard dumbface (or something like that).

Now I have one and I see the error of my judgement.

No, "hey new pics," "my profile is laden with crap and won't load," "here is my blahblahblahblog," "omg here's a gift," "poke/nudge/etc.," "play the zombie/vampire/mobster game," "hey this bulletin is funny" (no it's not jerkface), "please leave me comments," etc. garbage when all I want is a simple non-intrusive way to keep in touch with people I don't talk to or email every day.

It's hey, "look at this link," or "here is what's going on." BOOM. DONE. PERIOD. If you want to find out more, you actually have to call the person or something and INTERACT WITH PEOPLE.

While I'm sure idiots and vapid teenagers can actually have 20 page conversations on this, the rest of society will unplug for two seconds and pick up a phone...which keeps it from replacing normal human interaction. Amazing.

i think the only way i would tweet is if i do it like I use myspace... a very limited amount of 'friends' and even then i gotta clean and delete those on the regular.

no i have a mass text blast list which is WAY more effective than twitter. i use text 2 screen at ALL my events so when someone sends a message to screen guess what happens to their number. hmmm gets added to my promo list. i would much rather have 3,000 + (and counting) numbers of people who have actually heard me play and would come to support than just random add on's from twitter. Also like i said if your telling people what your doing day to day your wasting your time. if you use it to promote your events fine but thats far and few between from what i have seen.

so before you ASSume you should maybe think before you speak. like i said twitter is a waste and just another marketing scheme for companies and the like.

next your gonna say facebook is a great promotion tool. LOL get out in to the real world and promote to new people not just your "online friends"

Twitter is more that just a "promotion tool" I've made numerous business contacts from out of state and out of the country on Twitter. People that I probably would've never had a chance of meeting and communicating with otherwise. Like Bezzle said, it's a powerful tool if you know how to use it correctly.

You just proved my point, its not just used to shoot information out, its used to intake info. If you want specific examples, this last weekend jimmy buffet was doing a huge concert down here to benefit the gulf. The night before the concert he decided to go by LuLus (a restraunt in gulf shores) and do a small session free show, 100% unannounced, alot of people there tweeted that the show was going on and alot of people ended up showing up who otherwise would have had no clue it was going on. This morning on the way to work i looked at twitter and say about 10 of my friends bitching that they had been in back to back traffic on I-10, so by seeing my friends report that i knew not to take that route to go to workm, saving me a huge headache. I get frequest updates from artists i like on where theyll be playing and when their comming to my area, ive gotten TONS of great mixtapes and undergrounds from DJs i follow who post up links to the good stuff ect ect.

As i said before if your following people who just tweet things like eating a bowel of cerial yes your completley wasting your time but if your using it correctly theres alot of valuable information on there
