It seems that Itch is not importing all of the files from my iTunes library.
I'll search for specific tracks and they will not show up in ITCH, or I search for an artist and it will only show 1/2 of the tracks in an album, or just be missing random tracks here and there.
I've tried refining my search terms, just in case, and the files are still not showing up in ITCH. I've checked iTunes, and the files are there and play back. I've check my Hard Disc to make sure that the files are physically there (and they are).
I'm running iTunes 8.0.2 and ITCH v1.0.3
Any help would be appreciated. it really sucks to be at a gig and be spending the extra time searching for tracks that should be there...

Hi Intoner,
What format are the files you aren't able to see in ITCH? If they are DRM protected AAC files you will be unable to play them.

They are all mp3s without DRM.

Are the files all on your internal drive or are some on an external as well?

everything is in one folder on an external drive. My itunes is organized ("copy files to itunes music folder when importing" and "keep itunes music folder organized" are both check in iTunes).

Is there anything you can see that the files that aren't showing up have in common? (ie a strange character in the filename)
What might be a good idea is if you could upload one of the tracks that you're having this problem with and we'll have a look at it. You can upload it here -> www.serato.com
Please let me know when you've uploaded it :)

As far as I can tell it is completely random. Sometimes a particular track will be there, and the next time I open Itch, it'll be gone.
also, the track has been uploaded.

My turn to apologise for the delay, I've been away over the Christmas and New Years period :)
I've had a look at the file you've uploaded and there seems to be nothing wrong with it as far as I can see.
This is odd. When you say they files aren't in ITCH do you mean they are coloured red in your library (ie file not found) or that they don't show up at all?

No worries on the delay... :)
They do not show up at all.
The biggest issue for me is that I'm unable to utilize the playlists i create in iTunes, as a large portion of the tracks won't show up. so I can't even do the trick where I copy the list over to a serato crate.

If you go into the setup screen in ITCH then to the library tab you will see the Show iTunes Library option. Try unchecking it and checking it again, do all your files show up then?

Now NONE of my iTunes files are showing. All imported playlists and the Main iTunes directory are EMPTY in Itch.
This happened before I did what you said, and stayed the same after check/unchecking in settings

Do you have multiple iTunes libraries? It may be that ITCH is reading an iTunes library file on your internal drive which does not match with the files on your external drive. You can tell if you have multiple iTunes libraries by looking on your drives for a file called "iTunes Music LIbrary.xml" which lives in your "iTunes" folder.

All of my iTunes library files specific to iTunes are located on the internal drive (i.e. the xml files).
All of the Mp3s and music are all consolidated and exist on the external drive.
My iTunes has no 'missing' files and I'm able to playback and locate all of the files that exist on the external drive.
There is only one library.xml file on this computer.

I think I figured out the issue.
It has to do with the options in itunes "keep library organized"
for whatever reason, my settings got changed so that that option was un-checked intunes. so I was still able to listen to all the tracks in intunes (since the file's location hadn't changed).
the weird part is that as soon as I re-checked that option in iTunes, all of my tracks magically appeared in serato the next time I opened it. Basically serato will not load all of your itunes library unless you have the option "keep library organized" checked in iTunes.
very strange.
