I've been using an SL1 on this machine (PC) for nearly two years, and I just purchased a brand new one as mine was stolen. While waiting to purchase I had borrowed a friends spare SL1. Both my old one and his worked fine without any errors whatsoever. This new one I get out of the box plugs in and says "Power Surge On USB Port Hub" and will not run. The easiest temporary solution is to buy that power adapter from radio shack, but I never had to use it before and I don't see why I should have to start now. This is an obvious defect in the new SL1 box I purchased which I need for work this week. What are my options towards getting it repaired / replaced without missing work?

Are you actually using a USB hub? Or is this new SL1 plugged straight into your computer USB port?

no, plugging directly into the computer. I called support. They said it's a known issue and they have to repair it.
