when connecting the usb cable, a window pops up saying that there is a usb over current problem, too much power being sent to the port. then when getting the window to not show up when connecting the cable, the signal is not being sent through the box, because when i play a song in internal mode it shows that it is playing in the serato window, but no signal is being sent through to the mixer. when playing a song in relative or absolute mode the wave doesn't move at all, meaning that it can not control the signal or program.

What are the specs on your computer?

How many USB p[orts do you have?

Are you using any other USB devices?

If you are playing on INT mode and not getting signal to your mixer, double check the connections. You want to have the "line" outputs connected to a "line" input on the mixer. Make sure that the channel on the mixer is selected to line and that both the volume and gain is up. Provided you have speakers plugged into the mixer, turned on and turned up, you should be hearing audio,

You might want to try getting the external power supply for the SL-1 box. That will solve the over current problem. You might have USB1.0 on the Macbook which could be why you are getting the over current message.

The external power supply is 9Volt DC, 300 mA, using a P6 type barrel plug.

thanks for the info... i will have to try a few other options.
got the power cord, no more over current pop ups, but still no signal going through mixer. when i disconnect the serato usb from my laptop, the program will play singularly, but when i connect it again it registers that hardware is connected but no control or signal coming through. in int mode the wave is moving but no signal to the mixer... in rel/abs mode no movement at all.
the program has been working fine for the entire 1.5 yrs i have been using this computer, so i know the usb ports are equipped.
turned off the sleep mode.
is there a possibility the sl box has malfunctioned?
i will have to go to some other computers w/ serato or get access to another box.
thanks again

If you plug straight into the mixer (taking the Sl-1 box out of the equation) does the mixer pass signal?

I checked my mixer w/ another signal... works. I also hooked up my laptop to a 57SL mixer and everything was working fine.
Is there a chance that the SL box has stopped working?
I don't understand why it won't play through the box to the mixer in either int/rel mode, and because it was working fine for days in a row, then just stop working.

It is possible for it to be the box. They are rugged and last but when they go it will be like you described. One day it works, the next its not. You should call us at 425.355.6000 and ask for a Rturn Auth #. We'll get you sorted out.
