Hey, I was using my external HD today with my home boys setup at his house and everything was fine with my crates and songs, but then I came home, hooked up to my PC and a lot of my subcrates are gone.

I read in another post that you can go into your HD, rename the scratchlive backup folder and it would re read all of your crates (I think) and you would be good again. I've tried this, renaming the folder to NOV28_Scratchlive_Backup but nothing happened, the subcrates are still not there.

thanks in advance

so i got my crates back but not the way by changing the backup folders name. I had backed up my stuff a week ago and just went back and copied my subcrates and pasted it into the Scratchlive_ folder on my external HD and that seemed to work. But is this going to happen often. I mean are my crates going to not show up sometimes and I have to keep on copying and pasting the subcrates in that folder?? I was lucky that I wasn't at a gig but i don't ever want to experience that.

anyone
?

Hi JUNGLE JUNKEE,

Did you properly disconnect your external hard drive using the remove hardware option? If this is not done it can cause crates to be lost.

Before I left my friends house, that was the first thing i made sure I did because I know it can cause problems with the external HD

To be honest, the only time we ever hear of crates being lost is when the external hard drive is not properly removed. It sounds like it was a one off scenario, hopefully it shouldn't happen again. Please let me know if it does and I'll try and troubleshoot it further.

so far it hasn't given me any problems again, but if it doesn, i'll post again...thanks for your help
