The fader may need a bit of lube.

We recommend this stuff -->> store.caig.com

Also, take off the decor plate and make sure nothing is bent or broken.
djbeats 9:23 PM - 19 November, 2008

The DeoxIT fader lube F5 works great for me
djbeats 9:47 PM - 20 November, 2008
is it for the fader or buttons

You can use it for both, but the D5 solution is devoid of lube and probably the better choice for the button switches.

Any type of gun lube is great too try hoppes

I wouldnt use that unless you like gunk sticking to your rails.

beats, I use the D100 solution to lube the rails of the faders. D100 is recommended by caig for lubing plastic to metal connections.

yea, i have the same problem too, only had this mixer for like 4 DAYS compared to djbeats year/half, the fader is starting to become rough... is that normal? i notice the top volume faders are way smoother...

Dust and etc can settle on the rails fairly quick. Applying a bit of lube, as instructed in the manual, will bring back the smooth :)
djbeats 1:14 AM - 27 November, 2008
i cleaned the faders and the rails had dry lube. i was cleaning them with a cloth and it was very ruff as i buffed the rails. i had the mixer just sitting there and havent really used it as much the past months maybe thats why the rails lube dryed. i want to try that caig lube just that the website says $25 minimum purchase and shipping on top of that, all i need is that $4.99 small tube... i went to fry's electronics and they didnt have it, maybe they dont carry it i looked around at the tags and seems they dont carry it
Keogh 4:13 AM - 27 November, 2008
So what is better to use, the D100 or the F5 for the faders?
nobspangle 6:26 PM - 27 November, 2008
I use the F100 works well for me.
djchrischip 11:39 PM - 27 November, 2008

The F100 DeoxIT fader lube is the best for the non-contact faders.
eder 7:32 PM - 2 December, 2008

will it be wise to use pressurized air to blow all the gunk away right after using deoxit?

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to work in the lube by working the fader

i read somewhere that you should use little strips of newspaper. It said to situate the newspaer strip around the fader rail and pull back and forth, like buffing a shoe
DJ d.range 5:00 AM - 3 December, 2008
^^^use the newspaper BEFORE lubing

I have another mixer that has a pot (gain) that every time it gets adjusted static (or just a horrible sound), comes out of the speakers. What is the best way to get rid of this.

Use the same cleaner stuff:DeoxIT F5 or D5 should do the trick.

Have you been able to lube it with DeoxIT Fader Lube, yet?
Dj-Scout 7:46 PM - 26 November, 2010
After applying Deoxit Fader Lube F5 . . my fader works really smooth except if any extra force is applied to it in the vertically.. ie.. if i push up at all during any scratch it seizes up.. before applying this was never a problem.
