The pc thru trick worked very well for me... but I have some kind of drop outs or kinda pocks or pops in the sound. It's less present when I put up the buffer size, but it's still there at the maximum buffer size.

On the itch screen on the top right there is almost always usb written with red or orange light blinking. Does it mean that the usb connexionis not stable ?

Your computer is fairly close to the minimum spec, so Ace's suggestion is a good one. - Try it on a higher buffer setting.

so after a few days of use... there are no more drops : max buffer and wifi disconnected.

The cpu charge is 88-100 % but the used ram is only 386 mo out of 2 go.

- Do you know how can I allow the cpu to use the free ram ?

-why sometimes when calculating the bpm the reslut is totaly crazy like for ex. 87528026 for a song with a simple beat ( 4/4 dub steppa, not talking about breakcore & co ). But itch would find the right bpm for other songs from the same style).
Can this be fixed ?

To lower your CPU usage, try reducing the size of your maximum screen updates setting.
Is the file with a crazy BPM and AAC file? We have had reports of crazy BPM's being displayed when using AAC files in conjunction with older powerbooks. We are aiming to have this fixed in an upcoming release. As a work around for now, you could convert this to an MP3 and see if that helps.

I have a PowerBook G4 1,67ghz, 1,25gb ram and have some issues.

First everything was extremely slow, with many sound glitches...I was running Tiger.

Today I upgraded to Leopard 10.5.6 and itch is running much better, the display is almost OK. But I have sound glitches when using cue's on songs sometimes and when using the scratch to go forward or backward the sound is not always clear.

By disabling wifi, bluetooth I'm only a bit away from good performances. It's frustating because if the cue issue (sound cracking) is gone I'm good to go as scratching is working good enough.

Is there any hope for me ? What are the real minimum requierments for itch ?
Would upgrading to 2gb of ram change anything (i have ram free when using itch)

I don't get it ! I tried 1.03 and 1.04 beta 1&2 and then candidate 1 and the problem was still there...

I've installed 1.04 public beta 3 and the problem is gone...no more glitches.
I only have some delay when backflippin but i'm not doing such things at parties except in my headphones. There's also some delay on the screen when importing a song, activating a cue...but my ears are not disturbed so i don't mind.
Another thing is beter too, with all the other versions using the usb power was only making things worse, so i had to use an external adaptor, now i just plugged in the vci-300 on the mac and it runs fine...

But, I have only one fear now : why did the canditate version 1 have the problems ? Is the final version of 1.04 going to be based on the public beta 3 or the canditate 1 ?

I can't explain why there would be a performance difference between the two, they are essentially exactly the same, with only a couple of minor changes. Have you had a chance to try the official 1.0.4 release yet? It went final yesterday.
