How to slowly bring the track to a halt

So the VCI 300 is great (though it's my first foray into DJing so I don't have anything to compare it to). Since I have a new Macbook Pro it was problematic at first, but now I'm rockin and rolling.

One thing I've noticed is that touching the platters in scratch mode will automatically stop it. This is contrary to vinyl where doing so would slow it down. And then you can gradually apply pressure and the song will slow down till it stops. Alternatively, you can press down quickly and suddenly have the track grind to a halt altogether (you know, the way it always does on comedy soundtracks when someone was about to do something and then it fell apart). But it sounds different then it does in Itch because it actually sounds different for a half second before it stops. How can I emulate these in Itch?

Shoot... I wish this has an edit feature so I could add more.

First of all, I know about the slowdown faders and pitch shift buttons. And that does most of the work for me. But even at the lowest settings the track is still going just a little bit, and when I push the platter to bring it to a halt it always stops before I can slow it down myself. Is there a way to get this with practice, or another way to bring it down with only the platter?

I know people usually use an "awwwww" sound when they scratch. Is there a place I could find these files for download?

Is there a way to control the pitch without affecting the tempo?

adjust your brake speed in the settings, I think thats what you are looking for.

How do you do that? I checked in Setup and didn't see anything.

The AWWWW (its supposed to be AHHHHH) there is a place and it's right on the itch install CD. I found it and using it to scratch, it has all the samples, it's called Serato Sentence. Copy it to your music folder and keep it handy.
