Hi everybody...
I would like to know if there is plan to see ITCH vista 64 compatible in the future ?
Many people like me who make sounds job uses lot of memory (more than 4gig+). Combined with other music sofware like sampler, computer need 64 bit OS to solve ram issue.
i think ITCH should work with 64 bits OS. Actually it s a big limitation of the tool and i can't use it. :(
sorry for bad english.

Vista is shaky all around - both 64 and lower. I think Vista needs to be improved - a complete overhaul. It is no wonder developers don't want or can't ensure complete support when they (Microsoft) can't even make it work right.
The RAM issue is Vista issue. Vista is a RAM hogger.
Now, I know, as you guys stated, you have other PC apps but I would look at other alternatives - I really don't think you will have a solution in a time frame that will appeal to you for Vista - Think about it, how long has Vista been out and how many issues has it had and how many still don't support it and don't recommend it???
That packaging is a marketing strategy on MS's side - it is a forced hand to the market - which is failing at this time.
Good luck and I hope you find a solution.

so as far as a new laptop goes is purchasing an apple the only alternative? before itch i was using serato scratch live on a powerbook but is now obsolete by itch's standards. so i don't really wanna spend over 2k on another apple if i gotta upgrade every 2 years. what do you suggest?

I suggest a Mac.
I remember those days of the PowerBook but you really won't face that in todays world. Since Apple moved to the Intel Processor the speeds have been what they should be for the most part.
I presently use an iMac with SSL and will be also using it for ITCH.
Here is a Pic --> a974.ac-images.myspacecdn.com
My set up has changed from that pic in where I use a 2-tier stand now where the iMac goes on the 2nd level when I do mobiles.
However, with the new MacBooks that just came out they are really nice and up to the standards of the what the entree MacBook Pro was with some limitations and obvious screen size and start at $1299
If you can afford the MacBook Pro I would go for it - I think it will keep you very happy for a good while.
Just about everyone I know that uses SSL or any other DVS is using an Apple computer they just work like they should - at least they always have for me.
Oh and every PC convert, have not looked back since making the change to Mac - and these were die hard windows users.
What ever you do just make the right decision for you - all I can offer are suggestions on what has worked for me.

Hi everyone
We're working on certifying ITCH 1.0.4 with Vista 64, and so hopefully when 1.0.4 is released we will be able to say that it works. I can't make you a guarantee right now as we need to do more testing, but it's looking good so far.
Cheers,
Edouard.
